08/01/06 :: Winner of MixDiscMonthly.com DJ competition
I have today been officialy crowned as the winner of the MixDiscMonthly.com DJ competition I entered all the way back in November. It is a fantastic achievement and one that I am extremely proud of. I would like to thank everyone who took the time to vote for me in order to make all of this possible. Taken from winning announcement: "Firstly… We would just like to report on record download figures for last month, our top mix had over 1500 downloads and is still rising. Mdm also had a mention in last month’s Mixmag which has made the mix submissions double in the past week alone. The winner was Ben Manns of Bristol, UK, with his stunning hardhouse mix."
10/12/05 :: Through to final of Worldwide DJ competition
Mid November I entered a DJ competition spanning Worldwide that included every conceivable music genre.
Entry was open to new mixes until the end of November. The judges would then pick 5 mixes from all the entries received and showcase them on the Web. Throughout December, visitors will then vote for the mix they think should win.

The below is their review of my mix which they had compiled using answers given to them by me in an interview:
"This one certainly grabbed our attention. It kicks off from the very start and never lets up as it takes you on a hard journey through the more crazy side of the house scene. At 20 Ben is a young self taught DJ only two years into his quest to make it to the top, although he has a lack of experience playing out to live crowds the quality of this mix should see him playing some hard events soon. With inspirations like BK, Tidy boys, Amber D and Lisa Lashes you can almost imagine the sounds this guy spins but don't take our word for it, get the mix on the download, let it rip up your speakers and then get him at your local hard house night for his chance to prove his worth!"
