ABOUT ME:
I first got into Hard Dance about 4 years ago when I purchased Lisa Lashes Extreme Euphoria CD. After just a few tracks, I was hooked on the music and within no time at all, realised that my dream was to be a DJ.
Listening to the music gives me a natural high. And the thought of playing this music to thousands of adoring clubbers soon became my dream. My goal was to raise the money to buy some turntables and within a year I had my first full time job and my first ideal opportunity to purchase some. And thats what I did!
2 years down the line and i've never looked back. Despite struggling at first my desire to make it reamained the same and slowly but surely I began to pick it up. Progress was slow at first - I'm a completely self taught DJ - No tutors, no books, no DVDs... nothing. Everything I know i've taught myself. Which, although it meant its been a slower process for me than some DJ's, I do have my own unique style of mixing because of it.
People ask me, "Do you believe you will make it?". My answer is simple, "Yes". With my desire to make it couple with my love for the music and the scene I believe it can only result in one thing - sucess.
Am I perfect? No. I will not lie - There are aspects of my mixing that can improve. But then that is obvious, if there wasn't anything to improve on, I would already be world famous and most probably pretty damn wealthy! But the fact is, I WILL improve. I practice for hours every day. Not to get better - Just because I love mixing. Music is my life.
But don't let that put you off. I might not be "perfect" but I am damn f**king good. My tune selection is in my opinion up there with the very best. The energy I put into my mixes comes from my heart and is nothing short of exhilirating and I can read a crowd like a book.
My Dj'ing influences are:
Lisa Lashes - She got me in to DJ'ing. Her mixing is perfect every time. The way she works the crowd is unbelievable and her tune selection is spot on every time.
BK - What he has done to the scene is incredible. The way he has moved the genre forward is remarkable and I really love the direction that Hard Dance music is moving in.
The Tidy Boys - I love the way they construct their sets and take the audience on a journey every time. They never lose the crowds attention and really know how to make their energy rub off on the crowd to ensure their listeners always have a great night.
To play in front of an audience live at a club would be the greatest moment of my life - It is my dream afterall. The feeling would be amazing. I can feel it now just thinking about it! A tingling feeling inside - Euphoria.
